Following Pacifica Companies’ published desire to close the Sakura Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) in Boyle Heights, the ONLY facility of its kind for Japanese American and Japanese seniors in the entire United States, eleven staff have been laid off, including staff all important to the historically exceptionally high-quality bilingual and bi-cultural care that the facility has been known for.
