There are three new confirmed COVID-19 positive cases at Kei-Ai Los Angeles skilled nursing facility in Lincoln Heights.
Save Our Seniors Network is not satisfied by the response to numerous questions that had previously been delivered to the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health (LACDPH) as to how and why Kei-Ai Los Angeles (KALA) earned the status of having the highest number of COVID-19 related deaths of any nursing home in the entire Western United States.
Furthermore, given indications of possible mismanagement of COVID-19 at KALA, it is not clear why LACDPH has allowed positive COVID-19 patient admissions to continue there.
SOSN feels that the Japanese American community and other families of the residents at KALA should continue to press for transparency and accountability with regards to the COVID-19 situation at Kei-Ai Los Angeles. SOSN is currently in communication with LACDPH via Board of Supervisor Hilda Solis’ office. An outbreak (OB) investigation is now underway and an investigation was scheduled to be conducted by LACDPH on December 1.
