Save Our Seniors Network supports AB 1400 as a means to address the long-term need for multilingual and culturally appropriate healthcare services, put in jeopardy for the Japanese American community due to the sale of the former Keiro Nursing and Retirement Homes to Pacifica Companies and having reached a critical juncture with the International Real Estate Developers completing evictions of residents from the Sakura ICF.
Having the City Council of the largest city in CA and second largest city in the U.S. voting to support this bold healthcare reform measure is a very positive thing to build support for this bill, which would bring much needed resources and jobs to communities most in need of such healthcare services.
Much gratitude to members of Healthcare-for-All Los Angeles,(HCA-LA) who have been staunch supporters of the Save Our Seniors Network fight to defend bilingual and bi-cultural healthcare for Japanese American and Japanese seniors. As part of this victory, HCA-LA members were able to win the support of 17 LA City Neighborhood Council for AB 1400. Please help continue building support for this important bill!
