On Saturday, August 21, members of Save Our Seniors Network delivered community input regarding redistricting at an event in Boyle Heights hosted by District 14 Councilmember Kevin De Leon.

Reverend Ray Fukumoto delivered the following comments on behalf of SOS Network:

”Hi, I am Rev. Ray Fukumoto representing Save Our Seniors Network. A group of activists fighting for the well being of our senior community.

We are part of an over 100 year old neighborhood and one which transcends generations, race and origins. Look, all I am is just a home boy here to protect the neighborhood I was born and raised in. From Little Tokyo to Boyle Heights, we are one family. Attacking the boundaries of Council District 14 is an attack on all of us.

In our city, Japanese Americans and our neighbors from Little Tokyo and Boyle Heights all share one history. After all, “Somos Familia!” Domo Arigatou Gozaimasu!

Thank you for listening to this call for REASON! Thank you.”
